Reader Views Editorial Review

Thank you to Reader Views 5-Star Editorial Review of Thirty Years Without You!

I personally don’t consider this book a memoir but genre categories can be limited.

I would also like to clarify that the entire book is meant to be a conversation with my father. The only section that is written as a “memoir” at all is the section in which *16 year old me* is sharing her experience of his loss. This is to provide him with more context that I–as I am now–wouldn’t be able to share; not as authentically at least. They are not my words today and I really tried to separate her from me now, as the author of this book.

I find it so interesting to hear the way this book, a reflection of my own healing journey shared through the lens of a conversation with a lost loved one, is being interpreted by so many others with their own stories and perspectives.

I’m really looking forward to more conversations with those interested in connecting. This is how we heal. In community.

Love, V
