Navigating through life can feel incredibly difficult and overwhelming at times. Most of us simply hold on as tight as we can just to survive. After a while, this reactive approach to life can feel incredibly exhausting. When we find ourselves at a loss as to where we can turn next, we may be ready to explore a new way of living, of being, of truly thriving.
The ancient texts known as the Yoga Sutras of Patañjali provide us with a very specific roadmap to improve our way of life on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level—Eight Limbs to support and guide us forward towards a state of bliss and true happiness. The principles of Ayurveda provide us with an understanding of nature and how we can work to achieve a state of balance among the elements within and around us to encourage self-healing. Intuitive Eating has the ability to provide a shift in perspective in regards to how we view and understand diet culture, how we see ourselves and our body, and how we relate to food and exercise which have the potential to nurture us rather than be used as a means to self-harm.
In the broadest sense, these are the foundations of the tools provided in every session with V. Her goal is to help you fill your own customized toolkit with as many tools to help support you and your ability to manage stress and various life events, process your emotions, balance your energy, and improve your state of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Whether the toolbox developed for your specific needs and personal goals include more from Yoga Philosophy and a physical yoga practice on the mat, more basic Ayurvedic practice through your daily routine, or more of an Intuitive Eating focus to help you see you more clearly, you can be sure to be guided in a safe and supportive environment every step of the way.
How does an initial Zoom session with V typically work?
V will take the time to get to know you and where you are in order to help formulate a set of goals you are looking to achieve. Based on your individual needs and level of comfort, you will decide together what guidance you prefer based on her recommendations. Incorporating a physical yoga practice, breathing exercises, meditation guidance, journal writing, and establishing a daily routine or providing general coaching through a variety of principles are all available to every client without pressure and with no obligation.
How long are the sessions?
The initial session can last up to 90 minutes and subsequent sessions anywhere between 60-90 minutes.
What if I prefer to meet in person?
Initial sessions will only be held by Zoom. During that session you may express your interest in meeting in person and it will be discussed at that time. Considerations for this will vary per client on a case by case basis.
I’ve never done yoga before and I don’t think I can. Is that a problem?
Not at all. A previous yoga practice is not a prerequisite nor is it a requirement for your sessions. Again, a physical practice is only one of the many tools we can incorporate into your toolbox. I will say, however, that the methods for a physical practice have a wide range of accessibility and there is a form of yoga for everybody and every BODY. This is just one of the things you can learn from V if that is something you’re interested in exploring for yourself.
